front suspension/brake idea for the s10 Empty
PostSubject: front suspension/brake idea for the s10   front suspension/brake idea for the s10 EmptyFebruary 17th 2011, 02:30

ok i want to rebuild the s10 for 1 last time, the final time, hopefully. I have been thinking of how i can use c5 c6 vette brakes on my truck. 1st i saw the ATS spindles, they are a 1" drop and extremely expensive. you can see them at http://www.T56kits.com (look up spindles for a 85 montecarlo on that site) and i just found out tonight that beltech makes 2" drop spindles for 98+ s10 blazers which use the same style sealed bearing hubs (w/ 3 bolts) and i found a pdf copy of some blue prints on how to make the conversion brackets to adapt c5 vette brakes onto the 98+ s10 blazer spindles. add this to the qa1 coil overs and umi tubular control arms and zq8 sway bars and i think that would be a bad @$$ front suspension set up. can anybody think of any reason why this wouldnt work?

here is the pdf

and here are the spindles
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BEL-2102/

here are the control arms
http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=8_59&products_id=399

and these coil overs
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/HAL-GMP1450-3/

I have always been trying to figure out a way to run a fiske or ccw style wheel on this truck but the front rotors just will not allow it, with these parts it should work, what do you think?

Sounds pretty kewl. I can't click on all the links as I'm on my phone, but how much are ya looking at putting up for the front setup? It would be a nice end result. You expect it to slow ya down much on the rest of the buildup as well, or would this be way later down the road?

Well it already has gad the coil overs on it as well as the control arms. The old drop spindles will go on my new truck. So i have to buy new spindles and i want better brakes for obvious reasons so why not.

if money allows it than it would be a wise choice. You can never spend too much money on the braking system in my opinion especially when you like to do the high mph pulls that you do Don!
