Here is an update on Lil Red. Finished all the piping but one pipe since its aluminum and I can't weld with my machine. Have some buttoning up and finish welding the waste gate ETC up and it should be drivable again. It was nice to have it smoking from the stacks again.

those turbos look good on it!! what size is the piping? 3''?

Surprised it is not using wiggins style clamps on the connections .

Yes the pipe is 3" which is the same as the old setup. I thought the intercooler being after market would be 4" but it is a "Direct replacement" of the stock one so it only has 3"

do you see a big jump in power coming?

not sure.. these turbos are supposed to be more efficient, so not sure. It should be more but not sure how much.

well hopefully it does or thats alot of work for small gains. The other turbos were fine werent they?

yes, they were only rebuilt about 1000 miles ago

Here is the waste gate all mocked up, but I have to wait till the gate is welded to the plate to finish the piping.




Here is the front end back on. It was a PAIN IN THE ASS since the intercooler is bigger than the last. I basically had to redo all the supports and such to make it fit, then trim some of the valence and such.




But after about 7 hours and 25 times on and off with the front end its back together.

how does she pull??

have not drove it yet. still needs some small things like one pipe welded, some bridges across the boots put on and other little things... might be going by this weekend.

Are ya'll going to remove the piping and get it coated?

yes, once everything is finished and a couple of test passes to make sure nothing needs to be changed it will all be removed to be coated.

Justin got some piping coated by Polydyn and it was very inexpensive.

I know the hot side will be going there... not sure about the cold side.
